Payment Information

Payments can be made by either cheque, cash, or e-transfer. If paying by cheque, please make the cheque payable to Benchmark Swim Academy.

We do offer payment plans. For more information please contact Desiree by email benchmarkswimming@gmail.com.

The total amount for lessons must be paid by the first day of swimming lessons. If the payment is not received by the due date, a $20.00 late fee will be charged. For NSF cheques, an additional $25.00 charge will be added to the invoice.

  • A written request to withdraw from lessons needs to be submitted by email (benchmarkswimming@gmail.com) before the third week (third lesson) of the swimming program.
  • If the request is submitted before the third week of lessons, a refund minus the applicable charges will be issued.
  • Applicable charges deducted from the refund include the costs of all classes the participant attended prior to withdrawing and a $25.00 administration fee.
  • After the third class there is no refund for the swimming lessons.

Credits don’t expire and are not refundable.

Specific for Lessons Located at Public Pools

We are very thankful that the City of Winnipeg allows us to teach during public swim hours. Since lessons are taught during public swimming hours, everyone is required to pay pool admission – swimmers and instructors. We thank you for understanding.

Pertains to Swimming Lessons Only

  • To be eligible for rescheduling a lesson, a minimum of 2 weeks’ notice prior to absence is required (or if absence is due to an emergency).
  • If 2 weeks’ notice is provided, we will do our best to reschedule the lesson for another day and time before the session ends.
  • There is no guarantee we will be able to reschedule a lesson since it depends on what times are available for the same swim level and same class size during the session.
  • A maximum of two requests to reschedule a lesson can be submitted per session.
  • If we are unable to reschedule the lesson, no credit will be applied towards the next session.

Pool Fouling

If a pool fouling occurs, our instructors will still be there to teach lessons. If there is no sign indicating where Benchmark Swim Academy students should go, please ask the front desk or wait for one of our instructors to find you.

Facility Closure

If the pool closes due to unforeseen circumstances we will contact you as soon as possible to let you know. We will try our best to reschedule the lesson. If we are unable to reschedule the lesson, a credit will be applied to your account.

Summer Lesson – COVID-19 Policies

Physical Distancing Requirements

To help ensure safety and maintain Manitoba Public Health physical distancing requirements, instructors and swimmers are required to maintain a 2-meter (6 feet) distance from each other at all times.

Parent or Caregiver Assistance

  • For our lessons, the instructor will remain out of the pool and on deck during the lessons, to ensure physical distancing requirements.
  • To comply with distance requirements and with safety in mind, lessons for non-swimmers and novice swimmers, a parent or caregiver is required to be in the water with the swimmer during their lesson.
  • All preschool levels and Swim Kids 1 to 4 will require a caregiver in the water for the entire lesson.
  • For Swim Kids 5 to 10 a parent or guardian will need to be close by (on deck, not in the water) for the entire lesson.

Class Sizes

  • All lessons will be scheduled as private lessons (1 swimmer and 1 instructor) only – unless the additional swimmers are family members in the same family bubble.
  • If siblings want to  have classes together, the classes will be scheduled as semi-private lessons.

Instructors

  • Instructors will remain out of the water to teach lessons.
  • Instructors will enter the backyard pool through a side gate.
  • Instructors will be wearing a face mask when needed and will be physical distancing.
